Aftercare
Immediate Aftercare
Right after the procedure, your skin will likely be red and slightly swollen, similar to the appearance of a mild sunburn. This redness typically lasts anywhere from 24 to 48 hours, though it can vary based on your skin type and the depth of the treatment.
Sensitivity
Your skin might be more sensitive than usual for a few days, so it’s important to avoid harsh skincare products like exfoliants, retinols, or anything that might irritate the skin. Sun protection is also crucial—wear a high SPF sunscreen, as your skin will be more prone to UV damage.
Long-Term Results
The full effects of skin needling take several weeks to develop, as collagen and elastin continue to build up over time.
In summary, the main downtime is around 1 to 2 days of redness and possible light peeling. Most people can resume their normal activities right away, but it’s important to give your skin some extra care during the healing process.
Peeling and Flaking
About 3 to 5 days post-treatment, some people may experience mild dryness, flaking, or peeling as the skin heals and renews itself. This is completely normal and a sign that the skin is regenerating.
Avoid Makeup
It’s generally recommended to avoid wearing makeup for at least 24 hours after the procedure to allow the skin to breathe and heal properly.
