Aftercare
1. Come to your appointment with any long hair tied or clipped back
2. A numbing cream may be applied prior to appointment. Follow pharmacy directions and note that Inner Beauty is unable to supply or apply numbing creams.
3. Consent form must be filled out prior to treatment.
4. Eat a light meal and drink plenty of water before your piercing. This can help stabilise your blood sugars which in turn can help you avoid feelings of dizziness or nausea following your piercing.
5. Although you may be tempted to take painkillers such as aspirin or ibuprofen before your appointment, this is strongly advised against. These substances and similar can thin your blood which may increase how much your piercing bleeds. Alcohol can have a similar effect so avoid drinking the night before.
1. With clean hands apply 3 sprays of aftercare solution provided to both back and front of each piercing. DO NOT REMOVE YOUR EARINGS WHILE CLEANSING.
2. DO NOT TIGHTEN the back of your earrings.
3. For ear lobe piercing, leave your new earrings in for SIX WEEKS. For cartridge piercing, leave your earrings in for TWELVE WEEKS. After this time if ears are healed you may change earrings. DO NOT wear heavy earrings for at least four months to avoid stretching. If ears begin to become sore, return to piercing studs for 1-2 weeks and resume aftercare procedure.
4. Avoid swimming. If you must swim, rinse and apply aftercare solution immediately after activity.
5. Take care when using products such as shampoos, soaps, hair dyes, perfume and hairspray near your ears. If contact occurs immediately rinse earrings to avoid irritation. Reapply aftercare solution at this time.
6. Take caution when dressing and pulling clothing over the ears, this includes hats, caps and scarves as this can result in trauma and slow the healing process.
7. Pain, redness and/or swelling are not normal reactions to ear piercing and are uncommon. Please obtain medical advice IMMEDIATELY. To reduce the risk of irritation please choose earings that are made of gold, silver, titanium, stainless steel.
